About the club

What is Dallas Gun Club?

Dallas Gun Club is a private, nonprofit shooting club in Lewisville, Texas. It was chartered on April 23, 1946, by founders Wallace Moore, A.H. Meadows and W.H. Sanford.

Where is Dallas Gun Club located?

Dallas Gun Club is at 3601 South Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville, TX 75067, just north of Dallas, off of Interstate 35 and Highway 121.

Is Dallas Gun Club open to the public?

No. Dallas Gun Club is a private club for members and their guests. Non-members can book a tour, take lessons with our Resident Instructors, or attend corporate and private events by arrangement.

What shooting disciplines does Dallas Gun Club offer?

Dallas Gun Club has three sporting clays courses, plus FITASC and Super Sporting. Skeet shooters can choose American or International Skeet, and trap shooters can choose American Trap or Olympic Bunker Trap. The club also has a pistol and rifle range.

What is Helice?

Helice, also called ZZ Bird, is a shotgun discipline that simulates live pigeon shooting. Each target is a white plastic center cap fixed to orange propeller wings, launched at random from one of five spinning machines, so its flight is fast and unpredictable. You get two shots, and the target counts only if the white cap breaks free and lands inside the fenced ring. Dallas Gun Club is known as the Home of Helice and has two dedicated Helice fields.

Membership

How do I join Dallas Gun Club?

Joining takes four steps:

• Tour the club.

• Submit an application with three personal references.

• Interview with the Membership Committee.

• The Board of Directors votes on new members at its monthly meeting.

What membership types does Dallas Gun Club offer?

Dallas Gun Club offers Junior, Resident, Non-Resident and Corporate memberships. Resident membership is for people who live or work within 200 miles of the club, and Non-Resident is for those farther away. A Corporate membership brings two designees from a company into the club.

Can my family use the club?

Yes. Family privileges are included with membership. The application lists a spouse and children 25 and under.

Tours and shooting

What happens on a tour, and how do I book one?

You'll see the clubhouse and the grounds and have time for all your questions. Book online with the Book a Tour button, or contact sales@dallasgunclub.com or 469-240-2531.

Do I need shooting experience to join?

No. Members range from first-time shooters to national competitors, and our Resident Instructors coach every level.

Can I take shooting lessons if I'm not a member?

Yes. Our Resident Instructors coach every level and work with members and non-members alike. Email ashley@dallasgunclub.com, and we'll connect you with the instructor of your choice.

Can I rent a shotgun?

Yes. The Pro Shop rents Beretta 686 over-and-under shotguns in 12 and 20 gauge to members and their guests.

What are the safety rules at Dallas Gun Club?

Safety comes first at Dallas Gun Club, and significant safety violations are not tolerated. Everyone follows the club's safety rules, which are posted on every field and range, and the NRA gun safety rules. Range Safety Officers patrol the shooting courses, new members receive a safety briefing at their membership interview, and a safety video is required before using the rifle and pistol range.

Dining and events

Is there a restaurant at Dallas Gun Club?

Yes. The clubhouse restaurant, led by Executive Chef Luca Banfi, cooks from scratch for members and their guests.

Can I host a corporate or private event at Dallas Gun Club?

Yes. The club hosts corporate events, private parties, holiday events, team outings and charity fundraisers, with meeting rooms for up to 35 people, a covered pavilion seating 144, catering and a full bar. Contact events@dallasgunclub.com or 469-240-2551.

Does Dallas Gun Club host tournaments?

Yes. Dallas Gun Club hosts nationally registered sporting clays, skeet and Helice tournaments each year. The current schedule is on the Events & Tournaments page.
